What initially appeared to be a routine repair took an unexpected turn, evolving into a far more substantial undertaking. This project began out of tragedy: a major water leak from the dishwasher caused massive damage to the living room ceiling below, causing it to buckle. Rather than simply repairing the affected areas, the homeowners opted to take a proactive approach and upgrade the entire space.
Upon inspection, it was evident that the ceiling in the living room had buckled due to the water infiltration. To rectify this, we carefully removed the damaged sections of the ceiling and removed all of the flooring before repairing the ceiling and restoring the integrity of the living room below.
Upgrading for the Future
All flooring, including hallways, steps, and bedrooms, underwent a transformation, with carpeting replaced by luxurious vinyl flooring. This choice not only improved the aesthetic appeal of the space but also enhanced its durability and functionality, creating a cohesive look throughout the entire home. The most significant transformations occurred in the basement, where a previously unfinished space was converted into a fully functional living area. What was once a roughed-in bathroom used for storage was transformed into a beautiful, full bathroom, complete with modern finishes such as wavy tile that add a touch of sophistication. The warm beige tones throughout make for an inviting clean slate the homeowner can easily decorate around.
