Creating Outdoor Serenity from an Old Deck
Tearing Out the Old
Our clients came to us with an aging deck that had seen better days. The worn-out boards and outdated design no longer complemented their mid-century modern home, leaving them longing for a fresh start. First, we tore off the existing deck and removed the flooring from the adjacent sunroom to create a seamless transition. We installed gray Trex boards, chosen for their durability and modern aesthetic, on both the new deck and the sunroom. We also installed wood slats to cover the underside of the deck and created a space for lawn and garden equipment.
Creating a Brand New Space
To add a touch of sophistication and enhance safety, we integrated lights into the stair risers, illuminating the way for the homeowners, their children and their guests. We carefully selected elements that would complement the style of the home while infusing it with a contemporary flair. Black metal and cable railing were chosen for their sleek appearance, perfectly aligning with the mid-century modern aesthetic. The result was a stunning deck renovation that seamlessly blends style and function, breathing new life into our clients' outdoor space. Not only does the new deck enhance the beauty of their home, but it also provides a welcoming retreat for relaxation and entertainment, with plenty of space for barbecues, outdoor play, and watching the sun go down.
