A Custom Garage Renovation
When a friend of ours came to us wanting to convert his garage space into a short term rental downtown, we were intrigued. He had a 20’x20’ garage behind his house that was full of character, but it was also full of little critters and yard tools. At this point, we took his vision and ran with it, taking measurements to make sure the space would function as he had hoped.
Creating a Home Away From Home
We cleared out the garage and framed the space with every household component needed for the short term rental. We were actually shocked that we were able to make such a small space feel so open, inviting, and spacious. The short term rental is now equipped with a kitchenette, living area, bedroom with tv, full laundry, and full bathroom. One of the features of this property that allows it to feel so open is the vaulted ceilings that we kept from the original design of the garage. The wood trimmed beams and vaulted ceilings along with other quirky wallpaper designs and fun tiles really elevate the space and make it a unique place to stay.
Transformation to a Short Term Rental
We are happy to share that what was once a dark and drab garage is now a charming short term rental in Downtown Harrisonburg. The detailed tile work, ceramic tile backsplash, dark quartz countertops, and stainless steel sink give this space so much character. We’re elated that our friend had this vision when he bought his property and that we were involved in transforming his garage into the tremendously functional space that it is today.
